Whitehall officials have launched an investigation after allegations that a Tory minister's aide was caught selling sex online.

The woman reportedly boasted of knowing "everything" about Housing Minister Dominic Raab and that she knew his "every move".

The Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) launched the investigation amid concerns that the woman's actions could pose a security risk.

There is no suggestion that Mr Raab was aware of the woman's actions.

Mr Raab's aide allegedly met men though a "sugar daddy" website and discussed her work with an undercover reporter.

I don't care... at the end of the day it's my business

The employee met twice with an undercover journalist posing as a wealthy businessman, including at a five-star hotel less than a mile from the House of Commons.

At the end of each meeting, she was paid £750, the Daily Mirror said.

The member of staff allegedly met men on a controversial site used by younger women known as "sugar babies" and older, wealthy men to arrange liaisons.

According to the paper, when asked what her bosses would think of her use of the site she said "I don't care".

She is said to have posted pictures of herself on a website that allows "sugar daddies" to make financial arrangements with "sugar babies".

When asked by an undercover reporter if a meeting would involve "just dinner", she is said to have replied: "Obviously not."

Asked what her bosses would think of her actions, the woman was reported as saying: "I don't care... Of course they'd have an issue with it but I don't see why they should and at the end of the day it's my business."

A spokeswoman for the MHCLG said: "We are aware of this allegation against one of our members of staff, and are investigating.

"There is no suggestion that any official information has been disclosed."
