Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld has been declared fully fit to play by Belgium boss Roberto Martinez, despite Mauricio Pochettino’s recent reluctance to select the centre-back.

Alderweireld has not played for Spurs since the FA Cup match at Rochdale a month ago, but he is in the Belgium squad for next Tuesday’s friendly against Saudi Arabia.

The 29-year-old has missed more than three months with hamstring injuries.

Alderweireld believed he was fully fit in late January, since when he has only featured in the FA Cup, and suffered another hamstring problem in late February.

Martinez said on Tuesday: "Toby Alderweireld is completely fit after a difficult rehabilitation."

The situation has led to further tension between the club and Alderweireld, who has turned down offers of a new contract worth over £100,000-a-week.

Spurs will consider selling Alderweireld in the summer, but he has no firm offers on the table.

The club would prefer to sell him to an overseas club rather than a rival and hope PSG will make a bid.

Spurs have a good relationship with the French club after the recent signings of Serge Aurier and Lucas Moura.
