Tottenham Hotspur will take on Dinamo Zagreb in the last 16 of the Europa League.

The first leg of the knockout tie will take place on 11 March, with the second leg to follow on 18 March.

Spurs booked their spot in the last 16 by defeating Austrian side Wolfsberger AC in the last 32, earning an 8-1 aggregate victory following a 4-1 away win on 18 February and a 4-0 home result this week.

Croatian club Zagreb, meanwhile, achieved a 4-2 aggregate win against Krasnodar in the last round, winning their first leg 3-2 and emerging as 1-0 victors from this week’s reverse fixture at home.

Jose Mourinho’s team will be favourites for the tie as the Portuguese coach looks to lead the Premier League club all the way to the trophy.

That will put extra pressure on Spurs, however, as they continue their 13-year quest to add new silverware to their cabinet.

The north London outfit have a Carabao Cup final to contest against Premier League leaders Manchester City in April, with Pep Guardiola’s side presenting an extremely stern test as they seek to lift the trophy for a fourth straight season.

With that in mind, as well as Spurs’ recent FA Cup exit and their position in the English top flight, the Europa League marks as good a chance as any for Mourinho to get Tottenham over the line in their pursuit of silverware.

Spurs’ north London rivals Arsenal will take on Olympiacos in the last 16, while Manchester United face AC Milan in the pick of the ties.

Steven Gerrard’s Rangers drew Slavia Prague, meanwhile.
