Spurs are confident of meeting PSV’s valuation for Bergwijn, believed to be around £27m, but the clubs remain in talks over the final fee and structure of the deal.

Van der Vaart was asked on Twitter by Tottenham fan account, The Spurs Web, for his thoughts on the forward, to which he replied: "Should it all really happen, I believe that Bergwijn will certainly be a great signing for Spurs.
