Tottenham hope to open new stadium to the public this weekend as final touches are made to club shop

Tottenham hope to open the first part of their behind-schedule new stadium to the public this weekend.

The club is aiming to have finished work on the megastore inside ‘The Tottenham Experience’, located on the corner of Park Lane and the High Road, in time for a Saturday morning opening — although no confirmation is expected until Friday.

Spurs claim the shop will be the largest retail space of any football club in Europe, although the store’s 100-seat auditorium, which will show pre-match entertainment when the stadium is open for matches, is still unfinished.

The Tottenham Experience —which is within Warmington House, a Grade II listed building — will also be home to a visitors’ centre, the club museum and archive, which are all scheduled to open next year.

Work is continuing around the clock to finish the stadium, with several key areas — including the football and NFL dressing rooms and many of the bars — still unfinished. Some of the executive suites — including chairman Daniel Levy' suite — are close to being fully operational.

The club is expected to confirm in the next fortnight that the Premier League home games against Chelsea on November 24 and Southampton on December 5, at least, will be relocated to Wembley.

Meanwhile, Mousa Dembele is in contention to play at West Ham on Saturday after missing two matches with a thigh problem.

Serge Aurier and Victor Wanyama are also expected to be available after featuring for their countries this week but Jan Vertonghen and Dele Alli (both hamstring) remain out.

Danny Rose (groin) and Christian Eriksen (abdomen) will be assessed, while South Americans Davinson Sanchez, Lucas Moura and Juan Foyth are not expected to return from international duty until Thursday.
