Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks is unlikely to play again this season after suffering an ankle injury on Saturday, according to Mauricio Pochettino.
Speaking ahead of his team’s trip to south Wales to face Swansea on Wednesday, Pochettino said: “We hope there is no big issue but it will be difficult for him to play again this season.
“He twisted his ankle. We need to see the scans and then start his recovery.”
Pochettino’s side, second in the table, is now seven points short of Chelsea, but the Argentinian has urged his team to believe it is capable of winning a first league title in 56 years.
“Nothing is impossible—that is our idea and our philosophy,” Pochettino said, as quoted by the BBC. “Our challenge is to be consistent but there is still a big gap to Chelsea and a lot of work to do.”
