Tottenham star Harry Kane named England Men's Player of 2017

Tottenham star Harry Kane has been named as England’s Men's Player of the Year for 2017.

The award was announced on Monday after a vote from fans in the England Supporters Club, which was held in December last year.

The Tottenham and England striker lands the award for his performances in a year when Gareth Southgate’s side confirmed their place at the 2018 World Cup.

Kane scored a total of seven goals for his country in 2017 including vital winning goals against Lithuania and Slovenia, as well as a last-minute equaliser in Scotland in June.

Speaking to the official FA website after the announcement, Kane said: "It’s always special to represent your country so to be voted as England’s best player of 2017 from such a talented squad is a real honour after what was a memorable year for me personally.
