Harry Kane has finally broken his 'August curse' after finding the net in Tottenham's game against newly-promoted Fulham at Wembley.

After 14 matches without scoring in the opening month of any Premier League season, the England captain broke his hoodoo.

Prior to the game, Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic joked that the August heat was the main factor contributing to the striker's form, and hoped that the 25-year-old's luck would remain out for one more week at least.

“August can be so hot for him,” Jokanovic jested.

Jokanovic added: “Honestly I don’t know why.

"I hope he doesn’t score against us."

But the Serbians hopes were dashed when the talismanic forward thumped the ball past Fabri in the Fulham goal, to extend Tottenham's lead on the day to 3-1.
