Emerson Royal will make his Tottenham debut against Crystal Palace but the visitors are without Heung-min Son and Steven Bergwijn, who were injured on international duty.

Right-back Royal, the £25million deadline-day signing from Barcelona, replaces Davinson Sanchez in the back four, with Japhet Tanganga moving to centre-half.

Sanchez, Giovani Lo Celso and Cristian Romero are all training in Croatia to avoid a UK quarantine.

Son suffered a calf strain on South Korea duty and could be sidelined for around 10 days, while Bergwijn finished the Netherlands’ midweek thrashing of Turkey with an ice pack on his foot.

Lucas Moura comes in to the front three, while Harry Winks will play in midfield, with Dele Alli presumably pushing forward.

Tanguy Ndombele and Joe Rodon are named in the squad for the first time this season, joining youngsters Dane Scarlett, Tobi Omole and Dilan Markanday on the bench.

Palace are unchanged from the 2-2 draw at West Ham before the international break, meaning no guaranteed debuts for their new signings.

Michael Olise, Will Hughes and Odsonne Edouard are all on the bench.

Palace XI: Guaita; Ward, Guehi, Andersen, Mitchell; Kouyate, McArthur; Gallagher, Ayew, Zaha; Benteke.

Spurs XI: Lloris; Emerson, Tanganga, Dier, Reguilon; Hojbjerg, Winks, Skipp; Lucas, Dele, Kane.
