Antonio Conte sticks with Harry Kane for the New Year’s Day visit to struggling Watford.

After facing the Hornets, Spurs play rivals Chelsea three times before the end of January, including their two-legged Carabao Cup semi-final, as well as a north London derby at home to Arsenal and the FA Cup third-round visit of Morecambe.

But Conte said: “We had three to four days after the last game against Southampton so for this reason there’s time [for Harry] to recover, rest, have a training session and be ready to play against Watford.”

With his back six and front three looking settled, Conte’s only big decisions were only likely to come in midfield, where Harry Winks impressed again in the 1-1 draw with Southampton on Tuesday.

Conte talked up Winks at his pre-match press conference though the England international does not make consecutive League starts for the first time this season.

Oliver Skipp returns to the side after being rested at St. Mary’s, alongside Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. Dele Alli can also returns to the bench, with Lucas Moura starting.

Conte is without injured trio Cristian Romero, Ryan Sessegnon and Steven Bergwijn again but raised no new injury or Covid concerns on Thursday.
