TOWIE Bosses Hope Megan McKenna’s Family Will Be ‘As Popular As The Wrights Were

New recruit on The Only Way Is Essex, Megan McKenna, has made an impressive impact on the show so far, what with her romance with Pete Wicks and her feud with Chloe Lewis.

Romance and arguments? Yep, those ARE the two most important ingredients for an episode of TOWIE, right?

Now though, TOWIE bosses have decided to bring in some people very close to Megan to show another side to her and to boost her popularity.

According to The Sun, the ITVBe show began filming with the Ex On The Beach star’s parents, Tanya and Dave, and her younger sister, Milly, last weekend, with the scenes due to air this week.

A show insider said: “Megan’s only been on Towie for one series but she has quickly become the show’s star. Viewers have been transfixed by her relationship with Pete Wicks and they just want more.

“Now ITVBe bosses want to give her even more screen time and are hoping the McKennas will be just as popular as the Wrights were.”

The Wright family - Mark, sister Jessica, parents Carol and Big Mark, and Nanny Pat - have become a well-loved family unit on the show since day one, when Mark and Jess started as show originals.

And now, we can’t wait to see how Megan’s family fit into the cast!
