TOWIE star Lydia Bright announces pregnancy and reveals she's split from boyfriend Lee Cronin

Lydia Bright has confirmed that she is pregnant with her first child – but revealed the sad news that she has also split from boyfriend of two years, Lee Cronin.

Sharing the happy news with Hello! magazine, the former TOWIE star, 28, said that she feels now is "the right time" to become a mother.

She told the publication that she has spent most of her life “travelling and partying” and she is “now where she wants to be in terms of [her] life”.

"It's been so hard keeping this a secret," she said. "I've done so much travelling, I've done all my partying holidays, I'm where I want to be in terms of my life, financially and career-wise. It just feels like the right time for it all to happen to me."

The 28-year-old admitted that her close family and friends are convinced that she is having a little girl, and if that is the case, she would want to have the same relationship that she has with her mother.

“I think that’s because I’m very girly, so people just imagine me with a girl," she said. "But I’m really not bothered.

“I’d love a girl to be my best friend – me and my mum are best friends, she’s my best friend for life,” while adding that if she were to have a boy, she’d protect him like a “big brother”.

Discussing her split from her boyfriend of two years, she added: "It's not the ideal situation. I waited quite a long time to try for a baby, waited until I thought it was perfect."

The pair met in 2017 at a nightclub in Ibiza and the following year they announced they were buying a house as a couple.

They split briefly in January, with Bright explaining that the pair had parted ways and saying that sometimes things “don’t work out," but then reconciled.

Bright previously dated James Argent – Gemma Collins’ on-off boyfriend - but called time on their romance back in 2016 after dating for six years, also on and off.

The star also recently revealed that she would be love to foster children someday, although not “anytime soon”.

“I’d like to foster children one day – not anytime soon, but maybe when I have children of my own I’ll look into it,” she revealed in her column with Closer magazine.

And Bright is no stranger to fostering as mother Debbie Douglas fostered over 250 children over 25 years.
