The former Countdown presenter was told during an interview last month that Pete would be interested in dating her, and her response was relayed to him during the latest episode of the Staying Relevant podcast, which he hosts with Sam Thompson.
As she was interviewed by vlogger Holly Jay-Smith, Carol was told that Pete wanted to be “one of her men”, to which she replied: “Yeah. Is that official now?”
Sam relayed this to a delighted Pete, who said: “Go on Vorders. Yes Carol - it’s official,” before he outlined his plans for a date.
“Carol, let me know when you're free, and I can't wait to [go on a date],” he said to the camera. “We can talk [about] maths - we can have a really good night on tequila and we can wake up in the morning and I can make you breakfast.”
Pete called time on his seven-year TOWIE tenure earlier this year, likening the show to his experience of speaking at the Houses of Parliament: “Interesting day. Interesting people. It was a lot like TOWIE actually because that's another place full of f**king snakes and shit storylines,” he said.
Despite moving onto pastures new, it won't be long before we see Pete back on the small screen, with the personality teasing that he has a new series in the pipeline.
“It's a different year for me, I've obviously taken a step back from TOWIE for a number of different reasons, the timing was right,” he said. “I've got so much going on, I'm just about to start a brand-new TV project but it's going to be a very busy year.”
The Only Way Is Essex airs on ITVBe. I'm a Celebrity… South Africa airs on Mondays-Fridays at 9pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
