TOWIE Star’s Sister Probed Over Allegations She Cheated In The London Marathon

TOWIE star James Argent’s sister has been accused of cheating in the London Marathon – by posting a running time not even Mo Farah has beaten.

Natasha Argent – pictured below holding her marathon medal in a snap that has now been deleted from her brother’s Instagram feed – is being probed amid claims she tried to dodge part of the course.

The 26-year-old, who has made her Twitter account private and gone into hiding since the accusations led to her being trolled online, is alleged to have passed the 20km mark at 12.33pm but does not appear to pass any checkpoints for the next 20km according to a timing chip.

Her finishing sheet shows she suddenly reappears at the 42k mark just under an hour later, the Daily Star has revealed.

It shows her completing the first 20km in almost two hours and 20 minutes but she somehow manages to complete the next 20k in under an hour. Critics joked she would have to have taken a London bus or the Tube to cover the distance in that time.

Her apparent run of 20k in just 39 minutes was over 10 minutes faster than the current world record of 55:21km held by male athlete Zersenay Tadese of Eritrea.

Not even British legend Mo Farrah, who did the same course in 2:08:21 two years ago, could top Natasha’s alleged lightening quick time, completing a 20k section of the race with an average pace of under 4 minutes.

Natasha’s sheet claims she completed the race in three hours and 44 minutes. Everyone who took part in Sunday’s marathon ran with a chip, which tracked their progress. But a glitch in the system could have been the reason for the obscure timings, friends of the star said last night.

Fans of Towie and James Argent, above completing the 2012 London marathon in six hours, have branded her a “disgrace” and a “cheat” and mocked she will easily make this year’s GB team for the Olympics.

A source close to Natasha told the Star she was “upset” over the claims.

They added: “She says it’s total bull. She ran the marathon completely – she didn’t cheat. She ran about five hours.”

Twitter users were less trusting.

And charity London Youth, who Natasha was running for, tweeted: ‘We are aware of the allegations against a #LondonMarathon runner re chip discrepancies & have notified #VMLM2016 who are looking into it.’
