In decidedly humbug news for The Only Way Is Essex fans, it's been confirmed that the reality show won't have a Christmas special this year.

The Only Way Is Essexmas has aired every year since the show's launch in 2010, but it won't happen in 2018, according to Chloe Sims.

Speaking to The Sun, Chloe explained: "There is no TOWIE Christmas special this year, which is sad."

A spokesperson from the ITV show has since told Digital Spy: "The current series of TOWIE has been extended to 11 episodes and as a result there will be no Christmas special."

And just in case you were wondering what Chloe will be getting up to instead, she added that she'll be going on holiday with her 13-year-old daughter.

"I'm planning to go to New York with Maddie," she revealed. "It will probably be last minute but I can't wait."

Earlier this month, Chloe admitted that she's not really a fan of Love Island contestants joining the show, following rumours that Amber Davies could become part of programme.

Responding to tabloid reports in her new! magazine column, Chloe wrote: "I don't know what is going on between Chris Clark and Amber Davies, but I hope she doesn't come on TOWIE.

"She's definitely not from Essex and I'm fed up of people not from here joining us."

Her beef does seem to be with the fact Amber comes from North Wales, since she's more keen on Stevenage's Kady McDermott joining the show as the new girlfriend of Myles Barnett, who recently split from Courtney Green.

"At least Kady is kind of local," Chloe added. "And you can see they've brought her on for the Courtney drama."

The Only Way Is Essex airs at 9pm on Sundays on ITVBe.
