Toyah Willcox names Chris McCausland as top contender in Strictly Come Dancing's new series
New Strictly Come Dancing star Toyah Willcox has opened up about her predictions for the upcoming series. The 66-year-old TV and singing icon will be brushing off her dancing shoes as she makes her debut this weekend.
With an impressive career that spans four decades, Toyah is eager to start the competition but has already spotted potential in her fellow contestant.
In a conversation with Digital Spy and other media outlets, the seasoned actress and singer tipped comedian Chris McCausland to be the series' dark horse. She said: "I actually think it's Chris [McCausland]. He's staggeringly good."
"He's so brave, so incommunicado with everything. He's an experience just to be in the room with. I think he's going to go all the way."

Not only did she share her insights on the competition, but Toyah also spoke about her own journey on Strictly, saying: "I'm flying the flag for pensioners.", reports the Express.
"I'm the shortest, I'm the oldest. You know, I've just got to accept who and what I am and enjoy it."
Toyah revealed her long-standing desire to be part of Strictly Come Dancing. She admitted: "I love the idea of dancing.
"I think dancing is one of the most extraordinary things about being a human being. I just love it.
"I think it's the greatest way of expressing and getting in touch with your emotions. Music has always made me want to dance, so it feels very natural to have said yes to Strictly."
Chris is set to make history on Strictly as the show's first ever blind contestant. The comedian and reality star lost his sight at the age of 22 due to a hereditary condition known as retinitis pigmentosa.
"If anybody out there is thinking How the hell is he going to do that? then rest assured that I am thinking exactly the same thing. I don't dance, I haven't danced, I can't dance, I can't see the dancing I will have to do. What can possibly go wrong? OK don't answer that! ".
A source spoke to The Sun about Chris' participation: "Bosses are delighted by the signing and think Chris will be great on the show" because "he has a hilarious sense of humour and an infectious personality."
