Toyah Willcox is facing an uphill battle to stay in the new series of Strictly Come Dancing, with the music icon the red hot favourite to be the first star to get the boot from the ballroom at the weekend,.

The oldest star on this year's Strictly line-up, Toyah, 66, is the singer best known for hits like It's A Mystery, as well as appearing on countless TV shows and being in the cast of musicals like Calamity Jane. And it's her substantial experience in the entertainment industry that led some Strictly fans to hold her up as potential 'dark horse' for the Glitterball trophy, especially after broadcasting legend Angela Rippon blew everyone away last year at the age of 78 and Debbie McGee made the final in 2017.

Two weeks ago, millions of viewers tuned into see Toyah paired up with pro dancer Neil Jones, with him being brought in from the colds to have his first celebrity partner for a number of years but, while people had high hopes for the couple, things didn't go to plan in Saturday's first live show, when their tango to Madonna's Ray of Light only earned them 12 points out of a possible 40.

That low score left them languishing at the bottom of the leaderboard, a few points adrift of the next lowest scoring couple. And that setback coupled with some criticism from viewers at home has led to experts predicting that Toyah and Neil will be the first pair to be axed from the new series.

Supercomputer data from FruitySlots.com looked at all the previous winners of the programme and their characteristics like age and professional partner to see who is most likely to win, then factored in the first week’s scores for this year’s line-up to work out what their elimination risk would be and sadly for Toyah, she has by far and away the highest percentage, with her rated as having a 91.3% chance of going this weekend.

The closest star to her is TOWIE favourite Pete Wicks, who also got a lower than expected score at the weekend,. while at the other end of the standings, stars like Wynne Evans and Montell Douglas are tipped to sail through the public vote.

The latest odds from William Hill are also bad reading for Toyah, with 11/8 to be eliminated in this week's Results show.
