Nesting Turtle Tagged for First Time on Queensland's Bribie Island

The Bribie Island Environmental Protection Association (BIEPA) tagged their first nesting loggerhead turtle on Thursday, January 3, on Woorim Beach, Bribie Island.

The turtle was helped by Bribie Island Turtle Trackers when it was found lost and disorientated after sliding down a dune while trying to find a place to lay her eggs.

BIEPA said they hoped that tagging the nesting turtles would help confirm “from where Bribie Island’s nesting loggerhead turtle population comes and goes.”
