A CHEQUE for more than £800 has been presented to one beloved Isle of Wight charity.

David Lemonius and Denis Pocock of Isle of Wight Classic Tractors visited the Friends of St Mary’s Shop earlier this month.

The pair presented them with a cheque for £850 – from the proceeds of their annual charity Tractor Road Run, which took place on the December 27 of last year.

The charity were joint beneficiaries with the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.

The 24-mile charity road run saw 75 tractors set off from Hale Manor, near Arreton, at 10.30am, and make their way across West Wight to Compton Farm.

Crowds turned out to cheer the procession on and raise money for the chosen charities.

A spokesperson from the Friends of St Mary’s Hospital said: “Thank you to everyone who took part, and to everyone for their support.”
