Tracy Morgan crashes £1.5m car 'an hour after buying it'

American actor and comedian Tracy Morgan’s luck really wasn’t on his side when he got into an accident driving the car he had just bought.

According to reports, 30 Rock star Morgan was involved in a minor car accident when he was driving around Manhattan in his brand new Bugatti, worth around ($2 million) £1.5 million.

The collision took place with a Honda CR-V on Tuesday 4 June, the New York Daily News reported.

Footage from the incident saw former SNL star Morgan get annoyed at the driver of the other car moments after the cars crashed into each other.

But the driver had no idea who Morgan was when she told TMZ that she had to ask the police.

"The people were taking pictures of him and the car. I asked the traffic officer, why people taking pictures and he said, 'You don't watch TV? That's a famous guy’,” she said.

However, the same couldn’t be said for his vehicle when he completed his tweet by adding: “My NEW CAR? We shall see. Love you all.”

It is thought that Morgan had purchased the Bugatti just hours before the collision. It looks like a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse which has a top speed of 255mph.

A statement from the police with regards to the incident read: “There were no reported injuries at the time of the accident and no arrests.”

This isn’t the first time Morgan has been involved in an accident.

The actor was seriously injured in 2014 when a truck slammed into his limo-bus. The collision killed his friend James McNair.
