Traffic Impacted as Officials Investigate 'Bomb Threat' at Fort Lauderdale Airport

Portions of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Florida were evacuated as authorities investigated a bomb threat on Saturday, July 10, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said.

The Fort Lauderdale airport said on Twitter that the airport’s lower-level roadway and upper-level roadway were closed due to the “ongoing security investigation.” Parts of Terminals 2 and 3 were evacuated “as a precaution,” the airport said.

Jacob Jennings livestreamed this footage on Facebook shortly before 10:15 am and said it showed traffic stalled near Terminal 2.

Deputies were notified of the threat at around 8:49 am, and the sheriff’s office said its bomb squad has been investigating.
