Tragedy as driver dies in crash between Pool in Wharfedale and Otley

A woman has died in a road traffic collision near Leeds this morning.

West Yorkshire Police are investigating the collision on Leeds Road between Pool in Wharfedale and Otley.

Officers were called at 10.16 this morning, Saturday January 11, to reports of a one vehicle collision. The driver, an 86 year old woman, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The road remains closed whilst police carry out enquiries. West Yorkshire Police are seeking witnesses to the collision.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dash cam footage is asked to contact the Major Collision Enquiry Team (MCET) via 101 or use the live chat facility, quoting log 442 of 11 January.
