Tragedy as Edinburgh woman found dead in home as emergency services scrambled

A woman has been found dead after emergency services were called to a property in Edinburgh.

Paramedics were called at around 9.20am on Monday morning to the house in Lochend Road South with police arriving shortly afterwards.

An eyewitness told Edinburgh Live: "Ambulance showed up at 9am followed by another police unit with CID. Now there is a private ambulance and forensics outside the house."

The police are not treating the death as suspicious.

A spokesperson from Police Scotland said: “Around 9.20am on Monday, June 10 2024, a woman was found dead within a property at Lochend South, Edinburgh.

“A post mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death.

"Police are not treating the death as suspicious at this time. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
