Tragedy as man dies at East Lothian park as police probe 'mystery death'

A 65-year-old man has sadly died following an incident at an East Lothian park on Thursday evening.

Emergency services swooped on Lewisvale Park in Musselburgh at around 8.10pm on October 24 following a report of a concern for a person. The 65-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers confirmed the death is being treated as unexplained though there don't seem to be any suspicious circumstances.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 8.10pm on Thursday, 24 October, 2024, we received a report of concern for a person in the Lewisvale Park area of Musselburgh.

“Officers attended however a 65-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. The death is being treated as unexplained however there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.
