Tragedy as Scottish man dies after being seriously injured at recycling centre

A man has sadly died after he was seriously injured while at a Scottish recycling centre.

On Wednesday afternoon, October 30, emergency services raced to Dunfermline Recycling Centre in Wellwood. Locals reported seeing multiple ambulance and police cars at around 4.30pm.

Police confirmed a 66-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, having been injured at the premises, reports The Daily Record.

An investigation has been launched by Police Scotland alongside the Health and Safety Executive.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police received a report of a man having been injured at a premises north of Wellwood, Dunfermline, around 4.30pm on Wednesday, October 30, 2024.

“Emergency services attended, however the 66-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Enquiries are continuing and the Health and Safety Executive has been notified.”

A HSE spokesperson said: “We are aware and investigating alongside Police Scotland.”
