Tragic man, 37, found at bottom of Malham Cove named
An inquest has been opened into the death of a man whose body was found at the bottom of Malham Cove in North Yorkshire. Dale Sykes, 37, from Bradford, was found dead at the bottom of the cove in the Yorkshire Dales on Wednesday, December 11, last year.
He was confirmed to have died at the scene by an attending paramedic, an inquest heard. Senior North Yorkshire coroner Jon Heath heard that Mr Sykes had suffered a head injury and had died as a result of multiple injuries.
Mr Sykes was identified by his mother. Mr Heath adjourned the inquest hearing. It was previously reported that volunteers from the Cave Rescue Organisation assisted at the scene on December 11.
