Tragic sudden death of mum-of-four who was a 'source of joy'

Tributes have been paid to a mum-of-four and successful businesswoman after her tragic sudden death. Vicky Jones was the founder and co-owner of Tyn Dwr Hall wedding venue, in Llangollen.

She died two days before Christmas from an undiagnosed heart condition - aged just 42. She was described as "a source of joy", and the centre of the universe for husband Matt and their children - Charlie, Ali, Arayah, and Evrah.

Tributes have been paid to her by the wedding venue.

A statement said: "It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the devastating news of the passing of our beloved Vicky on 23rd December 2024. Vicky, founder and co-owner of Tyn Dwr Hall, was the heart of her family.

"To her husband Matt, and their beautiful children—Charlie, Ali, Arayah, and Evrah—Vicky was the centre of their universe. She was a guiding light, a source of joy, and a pillar of strength.

"Vicky was cruelly taken away too early by an undiagnosed heart condition. Words cannot capture the depth of our loss, but in this difficult time, we reflect on the extraordinary impact she had on all of us

"Tyn Dwr Hall was Vicky's dream and vision. Matt had been searching for a new larger premises for Knights Construction, and when she found the hall she declared that it was far too beautiful to be a building yard, and so the dream began. The hall now creates wonderful memories full of love for all of our couples and their families, and it was this that made her so proud.

"For many of our earlier couples, you will remember Matt and Vicky living at the hall during the renovation. Vicky enthusiastically hosting couple's show-rounds whilst Matt got his hands dirty. In September 2016, Matt and Vicky held their Vow Renewal here; and announced they were expecting baby number three; Arayah, our first official wedding and the beginning of one huge adventure.

"Vicky's infectious energy, heart of gold and determination to never give up will always be at the forefront of Tyn Dwr Hall. We thank all of our couples, suppliers and friends for any well wishes and support during this time. Matt, children and the whole Tyn Dwr Family are very grateful to receive such incredible support."

On Facebook, Rebecca McHugh said: "An exceptional woman. 'Normal people' don't achieve an inch of what she and her family have. It's so cruel. Though she'll outlive us all in everything she made happen."

Morgan Davies said: "Brought life and excitement everywhere she went and cared deeply about the teams within the establishments that she co owned. Taken way too soon."
