Trailer Filled With 20 Tons of Potato Chips Catches Fire in Central Florida

Firefighters in Ocala, Florida, extinguished a blaze in a trailer that contained 40,000 pounds (20 tons) of potato chips on Thursday, July 7.

The trailer caught fire at the manufacturing site of Outlaw Snax on West Silver Springs Boulevard, close to Interstate 75. The trailer was detached, sitting in a grass field, and was not a threat to surrounding structures, according to Ocala Fire Rescue.

This footage shows the crew hosing down the smoking trailer and a colorful array of potato chip bags that spilled out of it.
