'The Train Is Packed': Commuters Still Using London Underground Despite COVID-19 Warnings

The London Underground was seen busy on March 20, despite calls from Mayor Sadiq Khan to “stop all nonessential use of public transport now.”

Transport for London announced on March 18 that it would run a reduced service to combat the spread of the coronavirus, including the closure of 40 stations.

On March 19, the UK’s Department of Health and Social Care said 3,269 people had tested positive for the novel coronavirus nationwide, and 144 had died from the virus.
