When is transfer deadline day?

Transfer deadline day is on Monday October 5. However, to give clubs more time in the age of coronavirus, they will be able to do domestic transfers up until October 16. This will be for loans or permanent transfers between Premier League and EFL clubs. No transfers can take place between Premier League clubs or with foreign clubs in this additional period.

What time does the window close?

On October 5, the window will close at 11pm. On the second domestic deadline of October 16, the window closes at 5pm.

Any other deadlines?

Premier League clubs to register squads for the Champions League and Europa League on Tuesday October 6.

What are some of this year's biggest deals?

Chelsea are this season's big spenders with an outlay of more than £200m on Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva and new goalkeeper Eduoard Mendy. Chelsea benefited from the big-money sales of Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata as well as a transfer ban last year.

Manchester City have signed Nathan Ake from Bournemouth for £41m and Valencia wide player Ferran Torres. Liverpool were patient in the market but have strengthened considerably with the arrivals of Thiago Alcantara, Diogo Jota and Konstantinos Tsimikas.

Manchester United added another midfielder with the arrival of Donny van de Beek from Ajax. Arsenal completed permanent deals for defenders Pablo Mari and Cedric Soares, and centre-backs Gabriel Megalhaes and William Saliba have arrived from Ligue 1. Willian also joined from Chelsea on a free transfer.

Tottenham have given Jose Mourinho a new right-back in Matt Doherty, midfielder Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, left-back Sergio Reguilón and the return of Gareth Bale on loan. There has been a midfield changing of the guard at Everton with Allan, Abdoulaye Doucoure and James Rodriguez bolstering Carlo Ancelotti's squad.

Who will be busy on deadline day?

The saga of the summer continues as Manchester United chase Jadon Sancho. Arsenal need to sell before they can buy, but are keen to sign another midfielder and are targeting Thomas Partey and Houssem Aouar. Spurs are still searching for a striker who can support Harry Kane while Chelsea may still move for a holding midfielder. West Ham have been trying to sign Burnley's James Tarkowski for most of the window and are still in the market for a defender.
