The main saga of the window is the battle to sign Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez. Manchester United are expected to sign him, but Arsenal want £10m plus Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Arsenal are also readying a huge offer of £35million plus Olivier Giroud for Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and there could yet be more action at the Emirates with the Gunners battling Tottenham for Malcom.
Elsewhere, Chelsea were hoping to complete an shock move for West Ham striker Andy Carroll, having already completed a £15m deal for Ross Barkley, but Chelsea want a stunning double move for Roma duo Emerson Palmieri and Edin Dzeko, while Peter Crouch is also of interest.
So far, Barcelona have completed the signing of Philippe Coutinho for a whopping £146m after Liverpool made a huge, early move of their own with the £75m signing of Virgil van Dijk from Southampton.
