Travel Trunk Installation Seen at Louis Vuitton Flagship in Manhattan

Luxury brand Louis Vuitton transformed its flagship store in Manhattan into a giant stack of luggage as it demolishes the 20-story building to erect a much larger store, according to reports.

Footage captured by Kelly Kopp on Monday shows a view of the impressive “luggage” installation on the scaffolding around the store on 5th Avenue.

The temporary facade was designed by the company’s in-house team to mask the construction site, The Architect’s Newspaper reported.

The brand’s parent company filed a permit in early June to tear down the flagship store in order to rebuild, Crain’s New York reported. Credit: @newyorkcitykopp via Storyful
