Travelcard Featuring Porn Star To ‘Cheer Up’ Commuters Sells Out

In an attempt to cheer up miserable commuters, a racy new travel card has been introduced featuring a Japanese porn star.

However, anyone wanting to get their hands on the cards, that were released at midnight in Taiwan, will have to stay glum as all 15,000 have already sold out.

The saucy shots show Yui Hatano, 27, wearing not very much at all with a signed message in case commuters on Taipei’s metro and bus network grew bored with the picture.

EasyCard, the company behind the idea, said they want to make travelling to work that bit more fun.

Spokeswoman Lin Hsiao-chi said: “This set of cards is suitable to put in your wallet and collect.

"When you look at it, it will cheer you up.”

However, the company was forced to apologise after critics branded them disrespectful to women.

Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je said he did not know what had motivated EasyCard to "make that kind of business judgement”.

He demanded that the cards were not “openly sold” in supermarkets or train stations.

Deputy city spokesman David Huang added: "The city government believes that because a controversy exists, there’s no need to do this sale.”

Responding to the criticism, EasyCard said: “In the future we will continue to strengthen public service and social responsibility.”

Hatano, who has starred in X-rated films including A Nurse’s Confession, said the cards were a thank you to her army of fans.

She said: “Just because I am an adult video porn star, does it not mean that I cannot pay a debt of gratitude to my beloved Taiwan?”
