Tree Slides and Falls Across Highway Amid Storm Conditions in California

Dramatic footage showed a tree slide down a hillside and fall onto a highway in the Santa Cruz Mountains in California on January 9, after the region was battered by another atmospheric river storm.

The footage was filmed by a lineman from energy company PG&E, who the company said was working along the Central Coast to restore power.

Some 24,000 customers along the Central Coast and in the South Bay remained without power on Monday, according to PG&E.

The National Weather Service had issued a flood advisory for parts of Santa Cruz County and warned of dangerous winds into Tuesday.

The service said further rounds of storms were set to arrive on Monday evening into Tuesday. Credit: PG&E via Storyful
