Tri-State area ravaged by rain; first-ever flash flood emergency issued following Ida

Heavy rains slammed the Tri-State area Wednesday night, September 1, just days after Hurricane Ida. The National Weather Service issued a flash flood emergency for northeast New Jersey and New York City. It was the first time that the office has ever had to issue a flash flood emergency.
