Tributes to man and woman killed in Coventry flat blaze who 'will be missed'
Tributes have poured in for a young man and woman who died in a tragic flat blaze in Coventry. It happened on The Coppice in Stoke Aldermoor.
Firefighters were called to a first-floor flat on The Coppice in the early hours of Friday, November 8. Crews spent more than 70 minutes battling a ferocious blaze, which erupted around 4.40am.
Police were also sent to the scene and found the bodies of two people, who have not been formally identified. Investigators spent two days determining what had sparked the blaze and deemed that it was 'accidental.'

It had been caused by the battery pack of a converted e-bike that had been charging in the hallway of the property, West Midlands Fire Service said. Police said the incident was 'not being treated as suspicious.'
Flowers have been laid at the scene of the tragedy, as previously reported by CoventryLive. Tealights have also been placed at the front of the flat alongside a touching note that reads: 'Going to miss you.'
Tributes have also poured in for the two people who tragically died on Facebook. Amanda Forward said: “RIP to the two people that have sadly lost their lives and thoughts and prayers to their loved ones.”
Odette Chittem said: “Thoughts go to the family and friends of those who have sadly lost their lives.” Fran Shanley commented: “Sending my condolences to the families at this sad time.”
Mary Elvidge said: “Heartbreaking. RIP to the two people who died and thinking of their families at this awful time.”
In a heartfelt statement issued after the tragedy, West Midlands Fire Service said: “No further information relating to the cause or the victims who sadly lost their lives in this tragic accident will be released. Our thoughts remain with everyone affected by this tragic accident.”
