Tributes paid to beloved member of staff at Coatbridge school who lost brave battle with brain tumour
Tributes are being paid to a beloved member of staff at a Coatbridge school after she lost her brave battle with a brain tumour.
Anne Pryce Sheridan, who was an additional support needs assistant at Langloan Primary for eight years, sadly passed away on January 11.
As part of the pupils and staff's commemoration of Anne's memory - and how much she meant to everyone at the school - the school's windows will be covered in bees this week as Anne often encouraged others to "Bee Kind; Bee Happy; and Bee Positive", while the school is also introducing a new award at the end of term - The Anne Pryce Sheridan Trophy for Kindness.
Alison Rooney, Langloan Primary head teacher, told Lanarkshire Live: "Anne was very highly thought of by staff, due to her hard work ethic, organisational skills and constant positivity.
"Anne was highly committed to her job and loved helping staff and pupils. She always had a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone.
"Anne was an absolute pleasure to work with, and was loved by all of our pupils.
"She regularly worked with individuals and small groups of children, supporting them to improve their literacy and numeracy skills.

"She helped pupils in the playground, and was often surrounded by youngsters wanting to hold her hand and tell her stories."
Anne was with her true love, partner John, for 31 years, before marrying him seven months ago in a private ceremony in St Augustine's Chapel, Coatbridge.
Anne was diagnosed with a brain tumour 15 years ago and John supported her through her illness.
Sadly, her tumour returned last year and she lost her brave battle, at home with John and her mum, earlier this month.
Mrs Rooney added: "John helped Anne to tick off some bucket list wishes prior to her passing, including a visit to meet the Pope in Rome.

"During her illness, Anne and John very kindly made two substantial donations to the school.
"One was used to buy a water trough for the playroom, which is now a firm favourite with the younger pupils.
"The second donation was used to take all pupils and staff to the Vue Cinema at Glasgow Fort in December to see the 20th anniversary edition of The Polar Express .
"The school are introducing a new award at the end of term - The Anne Pryce Sheridan Trophy for Kindness.

"This will be awarded annually to a pupil who displays kindness, compassion, and positivity - just like Anne.
"Anne's funeral will take place in St Augustine's Chapel this Saturday and staff, both past and present, will wear ribbons saying 'Anne Pryce Sheridan, Langloan Family'. Sleep tight our angel'."
