Tributes have been paid to a 'devoted' dad who was killed in a smash. 'Family man' Wayne Neville died in a collision on the A53 in Shropshire on Saturday, September 7.

The 42-year-old - known as 'Nevdog' to his family and friends - could not be saved and died at the scene. Mr Neville's wife has now paid tribute to her late husband.

In a statement, she said: "Our hearts are broken, and we all miss him terribly. He was a loving and devoted husband, a thoughtful brother and son, and an amazing and caring father to Morgan and Ruby; his ‘Billy Wizz’ and ‘Shorty Pants’.

"He was a true family man. His love of motorcross and being a part of the ‘loyals’ raving community kept him young at heart.

“He left a lasting impression on anyone he met and will live in everyone’s hearts forever. I love you more, the end, I win - your Mrs Nevdog.”

West Mercia Police previously said two drivers died in the fatal crash. Officers said the collision took place between a Volkswagen and Nissan in the Market Drayton area.

A passenger who was in the Volkswagen sustained injuries not thought to be life threatening. A West Mercia Police spokesperson previously said: "We are appealing for any witnesses following a fatal collision on September 7 in Market Drayton, Shropshire.

"The collision happened around midnight on the A53 between the main A41 / A53 Tern Hill roundabout and the Muller Island roundabout when a Volkswagen Passat collided with a Nissan Almera. The drivers of both vehicles, a man in his 40s and a man in his 20s, where sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

"The passenger of the Passat was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital with injuries not thought to be life threatening or life changing. Officers investigating the collision would like to speak to anybody who saw the collision or either of the vehicles prior to it happening.
