Tributes To Victims Of Tunisian Beach Massacre

Tributes are being paid to the victims of the Tunisia beach massacre as the names of the dead begin to emerge.

Thirty-eight tourists died in the attack . Thirty of them are believed to have been from Britain.

The Queen has sent her condolences to the families of those who lost their lives, saying she and Prince Philip were "shocked" by the atrocity.

Here is what we know about the British and Irish victims:

:: Joel Richards, 19, his grandfather Patrick Evans, 78, and his uncle, Adrian Evans, who was aged in his 40s

Mr Richards and his uncle, Adrian Evans, died together when Seifeddine Rezgui opened fire on sunbathing tourists.

Mr Richards' grandfather, Patrick Evans, 78, is also feared dead, while his 16-year-old brother Owen survived.

The family members were Walsall FC fans and the club - saying it was "devastated" - has changed its official Twitter account to show a picture of the four together following the team at Wembley in tribute.

Adrian Evans worked for Sandwell Council in the West Midlands as a manager in the gas services department.

Councillor Elaine Costigan, a family friend, said Adrian Evans would be "sadly missed" and described him as "a lovely guy".

University of Worcester student Joel Richards was said to be a talented footballer and referee.

Tributes were left outside the club's Banks' Stadium, including one that said: "A pleasure to know you Joel. You were a talented young lad with an amazing future ahead of you. I will never forget the games and experiences we've shared together. A true friend - you'll never be forgotten. RIP mate love Reevesy."

Ian Murphy, from Birmingham County Football Association, who knew him, told Sky News he had "the world at his feet".

He said: "He was highly thought of and will be very much missed and our thoughts are prayers are with his family at this tragic time."

:: Billy and Lisa Graham

The couple, from Bankfoot, near Perth, had not been heard from since the attack at the Sousse beach resort on Friday.

Mr Graham's older brother, Lindsay Graham, told the Daily Record newspaper the couple had died.

:: Lisa Burbidge

Ms Burbidge was from Whickham, Gateshead. Her granddaughter, Chloe Thompson, left a tribute on the Newcastle Chronicle's Facebook page.

She said: "My angel, my best friend love you always grandma, rest in peace."

And in a statement, the family said: "We are devastated with the tragic loss of the most beautiful, amazing, caring and gentle person in our lives. We have been left with a massive hole in our hearts."

The statement added: "She leaves behind many family members including four fantastic grandchildren who were her world and will miss her tremendously."

:: Trudy Jones

Ms Jones, of Blackwood in Gwent, South Wales, was named as among the dead by her MP, Chris Evans.

Her family said in a statement: "Our mother of all people didn't deserve this, such a caring person who put everyone else before herself.

"Always willing to help others, she loved everyone around her including all of the people she cared for at work.

"She'll be missed by so many people. She was the rock of our family and kept us all going. None of us have a clue how we're going to cope without her.

"We are all devastated and would appreciate if everyone can respect our privacy. Please leave us to grieve our beautiful mother."

Mr Evans, MP for Islwyn, said: "The reality of this horrific and brutal attack has now been brought home to our communities with the news that Trudy Jones of Blackwood is among those murdered.

"My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends at this difficult time."

:: Carly Lovett

The 24-year-old fashion and beauty blogger from Lincolnshire had become engaged in December and was on holiday with her fiance.

The couple were reportedly due to return home on Sunday. Friends and fellow bloggers paid tribute to the former University of Lincoln student on social media.

The university's School of Film and Media tweeted: "Saddened to hear news reports of Carly Lovett in Tunisia - Graduate of our University 2013."

:: Lorna Carty

Mrs Carty, from County Meath in Ireland, died after she went sunbathing on the beach. The mother-of-two had gone on holiday with her husband, who was recovering from heart surgery.

Dunderry Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), where her husband Declan was treasurer and her son Simon and daughter Hazel represented at football, hurling, and camogie, paid tribute.

A statement said: "Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Lorna Carty. Lorna was always there to give a helping hand with all of our teams and events. She was greatly loved in our community and will be dearly missed."

:: Sue Davey and Scott Chalkley

The couple were on holiday together in Sousse. Ms Davey's son Conor Fulford, from Tamworth, Staffordshire, reported that she had died.

He tweeted: "Hi Everyone, Sorry to tell you we lost my mother Sue Davey tonight but I want to thank everybody that tried to help me & my family".

Mr Chalkley's son Ross Naylor had described his father as a "loving, typical bloke".

Mr Naylor from Derby said: "Tonight me and Brad lost our Dad, unfortunately he was caught up in the sickening attacks in Tunisia and is no longer with us."

Both Severn Trent Water employees, Ms Davey is the partner of Leicester City footballer Marc Albrighton.

A statement from the club said: "They are all in our thoughts and prayers. We continue to offer our support to Marc and Chloe's family at this time of great personal tragedy."

:: Laurence (Larry) and Martina Hayes

The couple lived in Athlone, County Westmeath. Mr Hayes had worked for transport company Bus Eireann for the last 20 years. He was a schools transport inspector.

A spokeswoman for Bus Eireann said: "The company wish to extend its deepest sympathies and condolences to the family and friends of Larry Hayes and his wife Martina."

She said Mr Hayes was "highly regarded on both a personal and professional level" by all his colleagues at Bus Eireann.

:: Bruce Wilkinson

The 72-year-old was from Goole, East Yorkshire. A family statement said: "We are devastated at the loss of Bruce, who was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

"Bruce was a loving family man, and in his working life worked to support the care of others. He was a kind and compassionate man, with a dry sense of humour. He was fun-loving, and will be deeply missed by friends and family alike."

:: Claire Windass

The 54-year-old victim from Hull has also been confirmed dead. Her husband, Jim who was beside her on the beach, survived.

A family statement said: "We are deeply saddened by the death of Claire Windass.

"Claire was sunbathing on the beach with her husband Jim Windass, who miraculously managed to escape physically unharmed and has now returned to his home in Hull, where he is surrounded by family and friends at this emotionally difficult time for us all.

"Claire, who has two children and two stepchildren, was born and grew up in Barnetby-le-Wold and spent 35 years in Scunthorpe before moving to Hull in 2012 when she married Jim.

"She was a warm, kind-hearted woman who made friends easily and was loved by everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed."

:: Jim and Ann McQuire

The couple were from Cumbernauld, north Lanarkshire in Scotland.

Their minister from Cumbernauld Abronhill Church of Scotland said they had a close family and would be sorely missed.

:: Stephen Mellor

The engineer from Bodmin in Cornwall was killed as he shielded his wife Cheryl on the beach.

A neighbour said: "I knew them both through my kids. We have lived here for three years and knew them to talk to, we would always wave and say hello to each other.

"I can't believe it has happened, and happened to them. It brings it all back home."

:: Stuart Cullen

Suffolk Police confirmed Mr Cullen, 52, from Lowestoft, also died in the attack.

It is believed he died instantly and was with his wife at the time. She suffered injuries but survived and has returned to the UK.

A spokesman said: "The family has asked that their privacy is respected as they try to cope."

:: Philip Heathcote

The 52-year-old from Felixstowe was on holiday in Tunisia with his wife Allison.

Relatives confirmed that Mr Heathcote died from injuries sustained in the attack. Mrs Heathcote was shot multiple times, and remains in hospital in a critical condition.

Simon Boon, Mrs Heathcote's brother, said: "Allison and Philip were due to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary today (Monday).

"For 30 years, Philip has shown my sister love, care, and loyalty that was second to none.

"Philip was truly Allison's soulmate and they did everything together, sharing the same interests life offered.

"We will along with his family in Manchester deeply grieve this terrible loss."

:: Denis and Elaine Thwaites

The retired couple were from Blackpool in Lancashire.

Mr Thwaites played for Birmingham City from 1962 to 1972, and the club said it was "deeply shocked and saddened" by their deaths.

The retired couple, aged 70 and 69, arrived in Sousse on Wednesday and had been staying at the Hotel Riu Imperial Marhaba.

Their son-in-law, Danny Clifford, used Twitter to try and find them after receiving no information.

Mr Clifford and his wife Lindsey said there was now a void in their lives following the deaths of Mr and Mrs Thwaites.

They described the couple as "the kindest, caring, loving parents any daughter could wish for".
