Vietnamese restaurant, Pho, has given a first look into what it's new venue on Lothian Road looks like and we paid a visit to give it a try

Opening their doors on October 25, the 100-cover eatery is the second location to open in Edinburgh and the third in the UK. If you are a fan of Vietnamese dishes, then look no further than this brand new venue.

Their quirky dishes have wowed many diners who already ventured to the St James Quarter eatery so we had high expectations beforehand and we were not disappointed.

Known for their street food classics like crispy spring rolls, fresh summer rolls, spicy curries, wok-fried noodles and a variety of pho, the venue has now extended within the capital following an incredible response from customers.

Included in the starters section are: Summer rolls, chicken wings, baby squid, crispy spring rolls, pork and lemongrass meatballs and Vietnamese pancakes.

While their classic noodle soups range from beef brisket, steak, chicken, king prawns and tofu and button mushrooms. They also offer a classic curry soup and allow a choice of protein too.

Finally, the rice and noodle dishes include a classic curry, rice bowls, wok fried rice, wok fried noodles and vermicelli noodles.

With such a large menu of tasty dishes, we decided to opt for a bit of everything to get a true sense of the restaurant. The clear winner was the Vietnamese pancake - despite it being the first time we had tried one, the flavours were delightful.

The chicken wings were as expected and were also a treat - albeit a bit too much for us before our main meals arrived but too good to turn down.

We opted for the curry noodle soup with chicken and the Pho house soup packed with king prawns, chicken and fried steak with beef broth for our mains. The flavours in the soups were so tasty - so much so we were speechless as we took out first spoonful.

I even managed to use chopsticks which was a pleasant surprise. The portion sizes are incredibly generous - maybe too generous because we couldn't finish our dishes, but we tried our very best to make the most of the experience.

The entire meal was enjoyable from start to finish. As soon as we entered we were met with friendly staff and a gorgeous interior. It feels like a true dining experience with delicious dishes and a generous menu too.
