There are lots of fun things to do in this city but if you're like me, and are fed up spending a fortune with countless activities being alcohol-based, this is for you.

In Glasgow's Lush store, on Buchanan Street, people can attend fully customisable parties - and there doesn't need to be a special occasion for you to head along.

Bringing my mum along for a relaxing pamper session, we went up to the third level of the store where they have their party shop floor and had a quick stroll, smelling all the bath bombs and massage bars before our party was set to start. And boy, were we in for a treat.

So what is it and how much is the Lush party?

At £25 per person, each event is totally unique and fully customisable with the host choosing from a range of activities during a consultation to build their perfect party. Not only do you get a party tailored to you, but there's a gift for the party’s VIP and goody bags for each person who goes.

You can create outfits and walk the catwalk in a fashion show using Lush’s recycled cotton knot wraps, solve treasure hunts and use mouldable bath clay to create a portrait of the party’s VIP and so much more. All you need to do is let them know what kind of vibe you are after and let them work their magic.

What did we do at our party?

Being invited to try it, we opted for a relaxing evening and created one of Lush's most popular masks, Rosy Cheeks. The kind party staff members, Leyla and Aleena, told us about the ingredients and why each one was being added, talking us through all the skin-loving benefits and leaving us pretty impressed.

For instance, we didn't know the rose for this mask is picked at midnight in Turkey because that's when it smells the best.

When it came to making the face mask, there weren't a lot of ingredients and there certainly weren't any harsh chemicals being added meaning we knew it would be good for our skin. This was definitely a highlight of mine as I love skincare and of course, making a face mask. We managed to take our creations home and weeks later, the face masks are still going strong leaving my skin baby smooth, so soft and glowy.

Picking our favourite massage bar, we were shown how to do a proper arm and hand massage, learning a range of techniques and why they work. We used their Magik bar and again, were able to take this full bar home with us. You don't have to go for this bar though, they let you choose and tell you which one is good for certain issues you may be having such as insomnia, joint pain and more. We both said that sleep was our main issue.

And if this wasn't enough, we were also able to experiment with eyeshadow, highlighters, liners and lipsticks to see what we liked and what suited us without feeling rushed. On top of this, we were colour-matched with a concealer and foundation that suited our skin to what we liked and were told whether we were warm or cool-toned. They actually showed us a neat little hack on how you can tell which you are - but we won't reveal that one, you'll just have to go down yourself.

After the party was nearing its end, we were able to do a Lush lucky dip where we were blindfolded and picked something at random. Both my mum and I funnily enough picked up the same bath bomb - and I can't wait to use it. If you don't have a bath in your home, you can pick out something else and try your luck for a second time.

I don't have a bath in my flat, but I told them I'd happily take it and use it when I next visit my parents who have one. Our lucky dip bath bomb was then placed in our goody bag where we were given a bunch of samples from skincare to hair care. One of my favourite hair products (it begins with an 'S' and the second word begins with an 'M'...can you guess?) was included in the samples and I was over the moon because I had run out and hadn't managed to get a new one.

So are the Lush parties actually worth it?

Yes, yes and yes again. I am beyond fed up with nights out being the same and waking up the next day, only to realise you've spent way more than you wanted to. Going out these days isn't cheap but I can honestly say that for £25, this is worth it. Not only do you get a unique experience, but it's something that everyone can enjoy. The Rosy Cheeks face mask alone is £10 and that doesn't include the goody bag or lucky dip items - or the massage bar which costs £15. So already it's worth the money and worth every penny and more.

Lush Parties are £25 per guest, and available at Lush stores nationwide. To find out more or to book a Lush party, contact your local shop via phone/email, or pop in store and speak to a member of staff.
