'I tried M&S's giant custard cream chocolate egg and it was an absolutely decadent, indulgent thing of beauty'
We all know how it goes by now; the moment Christmas festivities are over, Easter themed chocolate begins appearing on the supermarket shelves. Within the first few days of January, eggs are everywhere.
There are always a colourful array of choices from Creme Eggs to Thornton's finest white chocolate and raspberry flavours, but there is one particular "egg" that has caught the attention of many in 2025. Marks & Spencer have brought out a game-changing chocolate delight - in the form of a giant custard cream biscuit, which has gone viral.
The egg is made of hollow milk chocolate with biscuit pieces and a white truffle and custard lining on the inside. I was initially skeptical of such a creation, would it really manage to mimic the classic taste of the brilliant small biscuit? Oh ye of little faith, this was a revelation.

The chocolate was buttery smooth and thick, with the right amount of biscuit pieces within to give the feeling of an expanded custard cream. The truffle lining is gorgeous, it's soft to touch yet stays in place and tastes exactly like a normal custard cream filling.
The egg is pretty much the size of my face and is deliciously, indulgently moorish. A decadent creation which keeps you coming back for more, and is surprisingly effective and creating a giant version of a small bite of beloved biscuit heaven.
Yes, Easter is months away, but this is a delightful new creation from M&S, as surprising as it is filling. Beware of opening one of these, they're very difficult to put down, and if you eat too much at once (as I unfortunately did due to a lack of willpower), you may end up feeling slightly sickly for a while.
But putting my struggles with saying no aside, this could well be one of the best Easter "eggs" I've ever put in my mouth. £12 of rich, creamy, chocolatey, custardy goodness. Happy (early) Easter.
