We tried Six By Nico's 'Wizard of Oz' dinner and it's a wicked journey down the yellow brick road
You may have seen the trailer for the new movie Wicked, starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande (note November 22 in your calendars). So if you're looking for something to get you in the mood for the movie release - or you're a fan of unique food concepts, then this is a meal you need to try.
Taking you on an adventure full of magical flavours where each bite sends your taste buds into technicolour, their latest concept is, of course, inspired by the iconic story from The Wizard of Oz. You will begin your journey on the yellow brick road, travelling through the land where each bite leads you closer to the Emerald City.
Six by Nico have a number of restaurants across the UK including three in Glasgow, two in Edinburgh and one in Aberdeen. Their menu is an ever-evolving restaurant concept, where the menu changes every six weeks. So if you want to go, here's what you need to know.

Is Six By Nico worth it?
The Land of Oz six-course tasting experience has so many flavours in small, yet filling dishes. Starting at the very beginning of the colourful road, the first dish is warming and full of flavour. Before you know it, you're making your way through the Deadly Poppy Field, eating a 'heart' and watching the Wicked Witch melt before your very own eyes.
The standouts to us were the Nugget of the Yellow Brick Road, the Tin Woodman & Cowardly Lion as well as the Emerald City. Without giving too much away, because we want you to experience this for yourself, the dishes were packed full of flavour and there was not a single bite that was horrible or bland. The liquid courage that goes with the third course was so soul-warming and delicious and went well with the main.
When it came to the sweet dish, of which there is only one, it was superb. The Mousseline was light and sweet with a cold and refreshing sorbet that refreshed your pallet. The lemon gel gave it a lovely tang, but nothing overpowering.
If you’re celebrating something special, planning a festive occasion or looking to brighten up the dark and miserable days rather than siting indoors, this is one that so many people would enjoy. Plus, if you're going to see Wicked soon, then this is the perfect experience to pair with it. Why not go after the movie? Discuss all things Wicked whilst travelling through the land of Oz yourself!
Nico Simeone, CEO and Founder of the Six Company, said that unique and crafted dishes "pushes boundaries" passionately explaining: “The Land of Oz menu is an exciting journey for us.
