'I tried Timothée Chalamet's Bob Dylan-themed sandwich and it almost lives up to its A-list inspiration'

How does one capture the legend of Bob Dylan in a sandwich? Slim Chickens are giving it a spin with their new Big Apple-inspired meal.

Famed for its chicken tenders and wings, the American restaurant chain may be the only place this side of the ocean that can even attempt to create a Dylan-inspired lunch.

Working with Searchlight Pictures to celebrate the new Timothée Chalamet-fronted biopic, A Complete Unknown, the food chain has just launched the New York Sandwich Meal.

The Dylan biopic, which hit UK cinemas on January 17, charts the iconic singer's formative years in 1960s New York. The film-themed sandwich aims to ooze the spirit of the Big Apple depicted in the biography.

As a lover of all things Timothée Chalamet - and chicken - I travelled to my nearest branch to check it out.

True to its origins, Slim Chickens has a decidedly 'USA' vibe. Inside my local restaurant, there are exposed brick walls with red and white art dedicated to the chain's city of birth Fayetteville, Arkansas. Its seating followed suit with signature red booths.

Considering the restaurant's popularity, there was virtually no queue when I visited. Although, I did stop in on a Wednesday afternoon, so I definitely steered clear of rush hour. I opted for the New York Sandwich Meal, which was £13.95 and an Oreo milkshake, which cost £5.50. It's not a cheap lunch by any means, but it exceeded my expectations.

It has to be said that a sandwich is always going to be just a sandwich, but the blend of indulgent ingredients here make for a brilliant lunch. Alongside the buttermilk chicken breast, there is bacon and cheese, with sprinklings of lettuce and pickles. It is served with a complimentary sauce dubbed 'Taste The Unknown,' I did not think the condiment added much value to the meal because I was already satisfied with its flavours.

Considering this is a fast-food feast, I was surprised by how light the meal was; I didn't feel like I committed a calorific sin immediately after eating it.
