Three men have been shot at a barber shop in east London, police said.

Officers were called to Imran’s Hairdressers in Upton Lane, near Forest Gate station just before 7pm on Friday.

The males were found with gunshot injuries and taken to hospital. One of them also had stab injuries.

Police at the scene said they were looking for a number of suspects.

Several witness took to social media to share images of the aftermath as the area was flooded with the emergency services, including paramedics.

Scotland Yard said they are awaiting an update on the victims’ conditions.

One man is believed to be in a more serious condition.

A crime scene remains in place and inquiries into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing.

The shooting is not being treated as a terrorism incident, police said.

No arrests have been at this early stage.

London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 6:58pm tonight to Upton Lane, E7, to reports that a number of people were injured.

“We sent a number of resources to the scene: three ambulance crews, three medics from our joint response unit, a clinical team manager, an incident response officer and an advanced paramedic.

“We also dispatched teams from London’s Air Ambulance.

“We treated three people at the scene and took all three to a major trauma centre.”

To prevent further violence in the area, a Section 60 has been authorised for the borough of Newham.

It remains in force until 3pm on Saturday and gives officers increased stop and search powers.

Any witnesses should call police on 101, quoting CAD 6941/08Oct.
