Like most of us, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood have developed routines to keep them grounded in quarantine. And of course, Brooks’ includes a sweet gesture to ensure his wife—a.k.a “the Queen”—feels loved. Every morning, he wakes up before her and heads outside to work on their farm. “That’s what he does in the mornings,” Yearwood shared with her fans, per CMT News. “But when I got up, I walked into the kitchen, the dishes were done and coffee was made. He’s the best!”

It really is the little things. After enjoying her coffee, Yearwood has made it a point to be productive at home. “I’ve made myself a goal of trying to do something productive every day,” she said. “It doesn’t have to be big. I mean, if get the laundry done, I’m like, ‘I did that!’”

After a while, though, the same household chores can get old, so she recently decided to switch things up. “I also started mowing the grass. I know that sounds crazy, but, you know, we have a big yard,” she explained. “We live on a farm, so we have different places that we have to mow. And we’re usually touring so we can’t mow all the time, and the grass doesn’t wait for you.”

She’s actually enjoyed doing yard work since she was a kid, and now she finally has time to do it. “I used to love to mow the grass as a kid! I used to beg my dad to let me mow the grass, so I’ve gotten back on that,” she said. Not only has it maintained their lawn, but in a way, it’s been meditative for her. “I’ve got to say that’s been really good therapy,” she added. “Very zen.”

And right now, the singer is taking all of the relaxation she can get. She and Brooks have been open about experiencing anxiety since coronavirus lockdowns across the country began. “I don’t know if it’s like this way at your house, but Ms. Yearwood is the one that wants to save the world from the virus,” Brooks said in a March 29 Facebook video. “So she’s scared to death of everything … she’s like, Mom.”

Thankfully, he’s usually able to help ease her mind. “I live with a guy who always sees the bright side, so I think that he might need therapy once we get through this,” Yearwood recently told Entertainment Tonight. “But he has been a really wonderful source of strength for me.”
