Tropical Cyclone Wipha Whips Wind and Rain Through Hong Kong's New Territories

Storm clouds and rain passed over Hong Kong on Wednesday, July 31, as Tropical Cyclone Wipha hit the city.

This timelapse footage shows the stormy conditions in Tai Po, a district in Hong Kong’s New Territories.

The Hong Kong Observatory, the government’s meteorological agency, released the city’s first Number 8 typhoon signal of the year, prompting all school classes and ferry services to be suspended.
