Hurricane Ida Downs Trees and Powerlines in New Orleans

Downed trees and powerlines blocked roads in New Orleans, Louisiana, on August 30, after Hurricane Ida wreaked havoc across the city the day before.

This footage, uploaded by Bruce Reilly, shows a suburban street covered in foliage and fallen powerlines, as Reilly attempts to clear the way.

Louisiana’s Department of Transportation and Development worked to clear roads across affected areas, warning locals to avoid travelling.

According to local energy provider Entergy more than 895,000 customers across Louisiana were left without power.
