Tropical Storm Nicole Brings Wind and Rain to Orlando

Tropical Storm Nicole was expected to bring winds of up to 65 mph to Orlando and surrounding areas of Orange County as well as heavy rain after making landfall early on November 10 on Florida’s east coast.

According to the National Hurricane Center, the storm made landfall as a hurricane south of Vero Beach, with maximum sustained wind speeds of 75 mph.

This footage from Twitter user @cracka_c02 shows the wind and rain in Orlando. A blue flash is also seen, which the source describes as from an electricity transformer.

“These winds are so crazy. I can’t wrap my head around it. The rain is also torrential,” the source tweeted.

The National Hurricane Center said the storm was moving over central Florida shortly before 7am local time. Credit: @cracka_c02 via Storyful
