How Troy Deeney reacted at Anfield after seeing Darwin Nunez stunner for Liverpool
Former Premier League striker Troy Deeney was left stunned after watching Darwin Nunez's goal against Bournemouth. Liverpool claimed a 3-0 victory over the Cherries at Anfield on Saturday in the Premier League.
The Reds thought they had conceded an early goal from Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo, before the strike was disallowed for offside following a VAR check. Liverpool responded with a quickfire brace from Luis Diaz at the Anfield Road end, before Nunez scored his first goal of the season.
Nunez's strike came on the right edge of the penalty area on his left foot, which led to euphoric celebrations all around Anfield. Liverpool managed to keep their third clean sheet of the season in the victory, and Nunez received a standing ovation after he was substituted in the second half as he was replaced by Federico Chiesa.

Deeney was at Anfield working as a co-commentator for talkSPORT's coverage of the match. The former Watford striker explained why he was impressed by Nunez's goal and what he did after the Liverpool star scored the third goal of the afternoon.
"I think that is excellent centre-forward play," Deeney told talkSPORT, analysing Nunez's goal.
"He [Nunez] has all the attributes, he wins the ball down the line, he has no right to win that, he wins the flick-on into [Mohamed] Salah. He then gets onto his own flick-on with Salah giving it to him back, he chops inside onto his weak foot.
"And then it's just about composing yourself, feel it, and he's just felt it with his left foot, post and in. And you can hear this place, he needed that, they needed that, what a goal, and that's why he got a standing ovation from me."
